"Together for seven years, Herb Zeman and Jeff Harwood have enjoyed serving the Mid-South LGBT community. It was through Herb’s influence and involvement in the community that Jeff also has become active in promoting equality, education and awareness. Both are active with Memphis Gay and Lesbian Community Center (MGLCC), particularly Outflix Film Festival, and TN Equality Project (TEP). Herb served on the board for MGLCC and provided them with their current location on S. Cooper St. He also serves on the 501(c4) board of TEP. Politically active and progressive, both are currently serving on the Memphis for Bernie committee.
Active in the performing arts, Jeff and Herb met when they both sang for the Memphis Men’s Chorale. They continue their arts activities, Herb with Memphis Symphony Chorus and Rhodes Master Singers and Jeff working with Opera Memphis and Theatre Memphis. They are both avid karaoke singers and travelers.
They officially became engaged on July 26th celebrating the Supreme Court decision on marriage equality, and are excitedly planning their wedding for Spring 2016."
