2013 Grand Marshal

Shelia Tankersley and Chris Sinnock’s lives came together 18 years ago due to the loss of many friends from HIV. Shelia became the founder and executive director of Loving Arms, the first nonprofit agency for women and children infected/affected by HIV. While Chris transitioned from her pediatric oncology social work position to develop the psychosocial program for the HIV Clinic at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital which provides treatment for infants, children, and youth. They have been active on several boards and volunteer for many programs/agencies
serving people with HIV.

They have also remained involved with GLBTQ issues such as volunteering for projects for Memphis Area Gay Youth. Their work has been recognized both locally and nationally. Together they have 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. They are also mommies to 2 sweet 4-legged babies.
